EPCOT Disney Robert Silvers photomosaic limited ed collectible artwork for sale in Apopka, Florida

$125

Disney pins and collectible fans! $125 for both - or $70 for each picture. I have for sale two photomosaic pictures made from pins and framed by Disney in black frames. These two pieces of artwork were created for Disney-EPCOT by Robert Silvers, the artist who first patented the computer process of creating photomosaics. Each framed picture is created by grouping a set of pins (collectively a pin set) together like a puzzle. Each part of the puzzle (i.e. pin, like pins you would stick to a hat, just larger) is composed of a multitude of still pictures or frames from a certain Disney cartoon. These two pictures have just been sitting in our house for a while and it is time for them to find a new home. For the Millennium Celebration at EPCOT, starting in October 1999, one picture was issued for each month until December 2000, making a total of 15 pictures. You could only get an entire picture by collecting each pin each day they were offered at the park, or buy into the club that was formed around this set of pictures, thereby assuring you the entire set. After a few months, however, the day to day availability was discontinued and the pictures could only be had through the club. So, for each picture, especially the later ones, there are only a maximum of two thousand possible in existence. More than likely, there are less than that. These pictures are rare. You can find these online at art and other popular auctions for sale at six hundred dollars a piece, and even up to five hundred for some with frame damage! Both have a plaque on the acrylic that states "Presented by Cirque du Soleil and Walt Disney World Co." and "August 24, 2002 Benefit for the Children of Central Florida". Cirque philanthropy usually centers on children. My guess is that they were auctioned off for this benefit. These pictures usually came with hangers on the back, a hanging cord taped to the back, and some sort of papers. These two pictures have the hangers, but NO cord or papers. You can see where the tape was, however. Item specific information EPCOT Canada Pavilion, limited edition of 2000. #3 in series of 15. Released in December 1999.
